Summary:
The Training Technician is responsible for shop maintenance functions and assists in coordinating and directing the workload and training of the Service Department for maximum efficiency and productivity while providing quality repair work.
The Training Technician reports to the Service Manager.
As a Training Technician, you will:
Assist with the assignment of jobs and work areas to Service Department employees according to their skills and knowledge.
Assist in the appraisal of repair orders coming into the Service Department and may participate in repairs; may review repair orders for accuracy and completeness.
Guide technicians and apprentices to a diagnosis of advanced machine problems.
Advise Service Manager of all customer concerns.
Assist with coordinating and scheduling technician training as well as participating in John Deere Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge.
Assist the Service Manager with coordinating and conducting quarterly safety meetings.
Arrange for and participates in the re-conditioning of used equipment and sets-up new equipment as required.
Approve the release of equipment for delivery to the customer as required.
Responsible for complete and thorough documentation of diagnostics and repairs in a timely manner.
Maintain current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.
Operate and maintains vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment; inspects and repairs all special tools and recommends new tooling as required.
Maintain a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion, facilitating a safe work environment.
Deliver and retrieves mowers and compact tractors, as needed.
Perform other duties as required and necessary to ensure the success of the company.
Knowledge, Skills and
Experience:
Three or more years of experience performing service repairs is required; Three or more years of experience in Service Department Operations is preferred.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.
Ability to consistently promote, support, work, and act in a manner in support of the companys vision, mission, and values.
Ability to act on behalf of the Service Manager in their absence.
Strong leadership skills.
Knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.
Ability to communicate effectively to individuals and groups, both verbally and written.
Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions.
Excellent customer service skills.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
